Kinnera Biryani & Grill Review: Suwanee Menu & Best Dishes

Our Kinnera Biryani & Grill review found a quiet Suwanee restaurant cooking boldly spiced, home-style Indian food. The kitchen took spice levels seriously, and its best dishes—tadka dal, a boneless lamb biryani special, and Mutton Curry Hyderabadi—felt more personal than generic.

The photographs and tasting notes come from our original meals. The official restaurant website was checked in August 2026 for the current address, phone number, and split lunch-and-dinner schedule.

A quiet, neighborhood Indian restaurant

Kinnera’s dining room was calm on our visits, making it comfortable for conversation. The experience felt closer to a neighborhood kitchen than a polished destination restaurant. That can be appealing when the priority is food with a strong point of view rather than a scene.

Best dishes at Kinnera Biryani & Grill

Tadka dal

The lentils were comforting but not bland, layered with aromatic tempering and enough spice to keep the dish vivid. It is the order we would use to anchor the table, particularly with rice or bread.

Boneless lamb biryani special

A daily special featuring boneless lamb biryani was one of our most memorable plates. The rice carried the seasoning throughout instead of tasting like plain grains topped with sauce, and the boneless meat made it easy to share. Because specials rotate, ask whether it is available.

Mutton Curry Hyderabadi

The mutton curry delivered the deepest flavor of the meal, with the kind of chile-and-spice intensity that rewards slow eating. It is a strong choice for diners comfortable with bone-in meat and assertive seasoning.

Spice levels and portion expectations

When Kinnera asks about spice level, answer honestly. Our experience suggested that “spicy” is treated as a meaningful request, not a decorative label. If you are unsure, choose medium and add heat later. Portions also felt more restrained than at some Indian restaurants, so a group may want an additional dish rather than assuming every entrée will produce leftovers.

The current online menu still includes familiar curries and biryani, but platform prices can differ from in-house prices. We recommend using the official restaurant site for ordering links and current hours.

Our verdict

Kinnera Biryani & Grill is most compelling for diners who live in or near Suwanee and want spice-forward Indian cooking without a loud room. We would not describe it as a must-drive destination from every corner of metro Atlanta, but as a local option it has dishes worth learning by name.

Best first order: Tadka dal plus a biryani or Mutton Curry Hyderabadi, with a conservative spice level if you are uncertain.
